  • Monique Barashango is a humanitarian, music / theatrical producer, talent manager, film director / videographer, health advocate, and choreographer / performing artist that has dedicated her life to improving the mental, physical, and spiritual well being of youth and the global community through arts and fitness initiatives. She is the Founder of the non-profit organization, ViZion Dance, Inc. and Managing Director / Founder of ViZion Dance International Dance Company, which is an award winning artist consortium of diverse artists and entrepreneurs collectively performing a "high level and demanding" repertoire of historic works that evoke a moral and social consciousness in humanity. The company is also artistically committed to bringing widespread awareness to (and honoring) the sacrifices of "unsung" community minded local and global changemakers. Monique is also Co-Founder of RockAViZion Production Company, Co-Founder of the Hip Hop Arts Conference and CEO of Sole2Soul Music Publishing. She has served for several years on the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs Grants Council, is a partner with Fulton County Arts & Culture and Spelman College Department of Dance Performance & Choreography, served as the children’s program director at the world renown Dance411 Studios, director of BlocSouth talent agency’s youth African dance ensemble, as well as on the Board of the AD King Foundation and TomaFit non- profit organizations. As an accomplished actress, she has been featured in movies such as Marvel’s "Black Panther" and "Wakanda Forever" as well as "The Color Purple: The Musical Movie" among numerous others. Through her tutelage, numerous artists have found successful, award winning careers on Broadway, film / TV and / or have become community advocates, humanitarians and educators in their own right. As a result of her unwavering community servitude, she received a Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for Community Service on behalf of President Barack Obama, was recognized by the Katherine Dunham Institute as "One of the People Who Change The World", was awarded the Major Archer L. Durham Award as the African American with the most community service at Dover Air Force Base, as well as proclamations from the state of Georgia for the inspiring , social action based artistic works of her dance company. Moreover, Monique is a mother of 4, wife of a Morehouse Man / Educator, Veteran US Air Force Logistics Officer, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and former Dept. of Biology Lab Manager and Music / Dance Theatre Alumna at her alma mater, Spelman College.
